Biography of Wendy Bond
WENDY BOND, Co-Owner of the Oscar Bond Salon, has over 20 years experience, both as an educator and a salon colorist. Voted finalist for the Hair Colorist of the Year, North American Hairstyling Awards (NAHA) several years running, and being one of only 600 other Board Certified Colorists worldwide, Wendy has frequently been referred to as the top ‘downtown’ colorist in New York City by some of the most discriminating critics in the industry.
In 1998, Wendy Bond joined her husband in the tremendous task of putting their years of knowledge and expertise into ownership of a vision. The Oscar Bond Salon, a spacious salon set right in the middle of Soho, opened its doors on April 8, 1999. The Oscar Bond Salon team is professionally and editorially driven. They are fashion forward with a technical edge, and rooted in the belief of teamwork.
Rated one of the top ten salons worldwide by Salon News, The Oscar Bond Salon has been featured in such magazines as In Style, Mademoiselle, Jane, Marie Clare, Self, GQ, Details, YM, Soho Style, Time Out, Vogue. Wendy and Oscar Bond’s work was highlighted on ABC’s The View and MTV’s Making The Band. They have also co-hosted leading industry shows such as Hair Color USA, a 3-day workshop for salon industry professionals.
Wendy is a member of the Salon Association and a leading Color Educator for professional stylists on the latest trends in color, corrective color and color formulation. Wendy has been highly sought after by salons to come and educate their staff. What sets her apart from other colorists is the connection she makes between an individual’s vision of what they want and what will look good. The bottom line is that any colorist can listen to their client’s request; only a true artist can find a balance between current trends and personal style.
